l l l lyrics!

Been meaning to do this for a while...
But anyway, I love listening to a song, and every time you listen to that song certain lyrics just pop out at you and stay in your head, so I just thought I'd share a few of my favourite with you :)
  1. Payphone - Maroon 5 ' You turned your back on tomorrow, cause you forgot yesterday, I gave you my love to borrow but you just gave it away'  ' all those fairy tales are full of shit, one more fucking love song I'll be sick'
  2.  Somebody that I used to know - Gotye 'You can addicted to a certain kind of sadness' 'but you didn't have to cut me off,  But you didn't have to cut me off make out like it never happened and that we were nothing. And I don't even need your love but you treat me like a stranger and I feel so rough'
  3. On your own - We are the in crowd 'sick of hearing all your excuses' 'say another word and I'll lose it'
  4. Travellers chant - Rizzle Kicks 'Thinking maybe it's me' 'Me, myself and I. How cliché'
  5. We are young - Fun ft Janelle Monáe ' Now I know that I'm not all that you got, I guess that I, I just thought maybe we could find new ways to fall apart'
  6. Safe and sound - Taylor Swift ft Civil wars 'Don't you dare look out your window darling, everything's on fire'
  7. Jesus of surburbia - Green Day ' In the land of make believe, they don't believe in me'
  8. Super massive black hole - Muse ' You're the queen of the superficial. And how long before you tell the truth?'

What are your favourite lyrics ever?

I'm such a loser at all of this!

Well, wow, I've been away for ages! After my quick update I was meant to come back and carry on but I have been sooooooo busy lately, so sorry! Also in my quick update I mentioned concerts and in November of this year I have another one coming up to see Ben Howard, who's like Ed Sheeran but a bit more indy, I have a lot of very jealous friends heheh!

Top tracks right now:
1. I won't give up - Jason Mraz; so ummm wow, such a good song, it's so thoughtful and calming yet very emotional at the same time. I've seen a lot of covers for this song, and a lot of them are beautiful and do a lot of justice for the song, until I found a cover by Cimorelli - a youtube band of 6 sisters who can harmonise so well - and I have to say that their cover I prefer to the original, sorry Jason! But it is truely amazing, I often have it on repeat, so here it is...

2. Repeat (ft. Jessie J) - David Guetta; now this isn't a single off his album, but by god it should be! I think if more people heard it it would be HUUUUGE, it's such a good party song, but still has pretty meaningful lyrics.

3. Love me (ft. Travie McCoy, Kat Krazy REMIX) - Stooshe; the original is ok, but the remix is sooooo much better, but If you're going to listen make sure you get the Kat Krazy remix! I kept hearing it on an advert in the UK for 4music and I'd have it stuck in my head all day. It's got a club/summer/fun/funky vibe, it's amazing, and the girls can sing, although there british accents are very clear in the song, which I know some people hate (over in the UK it would be considered quite a conmen accent) personally I LOVE it!

4. Traveller's chant - Rizzle Kicks; OMG, perfect song for those rainy days when you're feeling dramatic and want a slow song! The lyrics are so so so meaningful to me, and I connect so well to the song, I think no matter how old I am I always connect to it, it's really worth a listen from this duo, they also do an acoustic in Paris, which is just as good if not better than the actual song!

5. Cough syrup - Young the Giant; this song is so hard to describe, its a bit rocky but calm, but very very very catchy, I find myself humming it a lot. Glee do a decent cover which I found a couple of weeks ago that I liked but forgot about until I heard the original on Made In Chelsea last night. I have to say that I like a few songs by this band, they're really worth listening to!

Other songs worth mentioning:
  • Somebody that I used to know -  Gotye ft Kimbra
  • Next to me - Emeli Sandé
  • Starships - Nicki Minaj
  • I got you -Jodie Marie
  • Cinderella man - Eminem
  • Charlie Brown - Coldplay
  • Songs like this - Carrie Underwood
  • Mean - Taylor Swift
  • Here comes the rain - The Mavericks
  • Welcome home - Radical Face
  • Green eyes - Joe Brooks
  • For you - Joe Brooks
  • Five days of summer - Joe Brooks

Quick update

Waaaa! Ok I realise I really haven't been sticking with this, I feel silly now, but a super quick update, as I'm about to go play in the snow ;)!

Concerts:
Ok, so I've been to lots of concerts lately,including Tinie Tempah, One Direction and Professor Green, who were all amazing and due to their support acts I have now seen Rizzle kicks, Red Light (dubstep person!) BOYCE AVENUE! - omg, go check them out on youtube they are AMAZING and tickets to see them normally would be £60! I'm so lucky! - J.Cole who is huge in America, and a guy called Matt Lonsdale.
All those concerts were amazing, and recently I got tickets to see Ed Sheeran in Manchester, even though it's a treck I cannot wait!!!!!

Tracks I love right now:
M83 - Midnight City ; was featured on Made In Chelsea, its such a kooky good track!!
David Guetta ft. Sia - Titanium ; such a good dance song
Flo Rida ft. Sia - Wild ones ; same as above, Sia clearly has a good dance track voice! (:
Glee cast - Smooth Criminal ; the instruments a cello's and sound amazing against the voices, and personally I prefer it to the originals!
Rusted Root - Send me on my way ; old school song from Matilda and Ice Age, but it's such a feel good song, you can't help but love it and sing along!
Lana Del Rey - Born to Die ; she has such an original voice
Gym Class Hereos ft. Neon Hitch - Ass Back Home ; has to be my favourite out of all of these songs, its just so good as was stereo heart by them and I think this will be hugggeeeeee!

And thats all for now, I'll try and get back on soon with more links and everything! x

Two things -

Ok so number one - BIRDY!
 She became famous a little while ago for doing a cover of Bon Iver - Skinny Love. I heard her version first which is her playing the piano and singing, I loved it but as usual some people said the original was better so I checked it out and still preferred Birdy's version.
 So she's 14/15 years old and her voice is just amazing, she can hit really high notes and just sound amazing (I need to learn a new word other than amazing!) , she was discovered by Fearne Cotten a radio 1 DJ and I am so glad cause I love her stuff. And now Birdy has a new song out again I think it's a cover but it's called Shelter, you should check it out on her youtube >> http://www.youtube.com/user/OfficialBirdy << some people keep criticising Birdy for not doing her own songs and just doing covers well all I can say is I find sometimes it really annoys me when people do covers of a song and it's just like the original, so at least she's changing the song to suit her and introducing new people to the originals right? But she also does do her own songs I've managed to find one which I will put in here >> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHGSpNqhrUs&feature=channel_video_title << she is also bringing out her own album in September 2011 I think. So I would check her music out and keep an eye out!

Ok number two - my new music obsessions lately!

So I get bored of music quite quickly, so I was just searching around for some new tunes whilst on study leave..
 And I came across all of these;
1. I'm into you Ft. Lil Wayne - Jennifer Lopez ;
 Well I heard this agggeeees ago and I really didn't like it if I'm honest but as it's been played more and more it's grown on me I'm sad to say ;) so I gave in and got it today, have a feeling I'll find myself in my exam tomorrow just singing along to this quietly!
2. Right There Ft. 50 cent - Nicole Scherzinger ;
 Same situation as the song above! :') Both these songs are perfect for chilling in  summer and stick in your head all day so by Saturday you can guarantee I'll hate them!
3. Wonderland (peacetreaty dubstep remix) - Natalia Kills ;
 Get ready for a long story! Well, originally me and my  friend Sam liked the original song which is still really good, but I came across this, and I'm not normally a huge fan of dubstep but it's been dubstep week on Radio 1 and it is definitely growing on me.  So when I listened to the original in comparison there was no compitition, the dubstep version won.. the beat and all just all of it is really good and worth a listen !
4. If I was you (OMG) Ft. Snoop Dog - Far East Movement ;
Again it'll probably become quite popular I think and it's quite catchy, more of a party, summer song.

And that's all as I'm becoming to lazy to write much else! :')

headphones make me sleepy.: how to get free music :D

headphones make me sleepy.: how to get free music :D: "Because I am constantly looking for new music, and because I constantly want to buy everything I hear, I have spent some time figuring out h..."

Well...

Ok so I realise that I'm not as technical as some people out there but I love music? And every opinion counts as long as it's not like "I'm gonna kill you that was complete shit" , cause that's just plain rude. But is it weird that I'm a little insecure after looking at others blogs on music and I now feel like I'm doing a complete ass of a job?

Anyway, I've been having a pretty cool day I just logged on twitter, found I had a new follower called Mikey Wax, so I thought I would check out who it was ya'no make sure it wasn't some crazy paedophile.. well, it wasn't some crazy paedophile, it was this really cool singer from NYC, so I went on his website >> http://www.mikeywax.com/ << (simple and easy to remember!) and he has all of his songs that you can play all the way through on there and there just so mellow - in a good way - and calming and his voice could just send me to sleep - again in a good, relaxing way.
So I thought hey I may just have to follow this guy on twitter, so I did and I tweeted him saying I fell in love with your voice! - mind you this guy has just over 20,000 followers - and he replied saying thanks, I nearly died I was so happy! So my story continues when I subscribed to him on youtube, and thought hey I'll send a friend request 'cause ya'no he tweeted me and followed me, and yes I'm proud to say we are now friends on youtube.

Well if you ask me that's the kind of guy that deserves to be played on radio, he makes great music that's perfect to listen to whilst sunbathing, has a dreamy voice, obviously a nice guy, cares about his fans, and is rather good looking.

His 'sound' is rather poppy in some aspects but kind of has a bit of Maroon 5/John Mayer sound to it, if any of that makes sense to you, but it's great background music to a summer day. Recommend a listen even if it's not normally your thing.
